9. Chrome Extension — Google Account Data

Our TM Search OTP & Captcha Helper Chrome extension is an optional tool that helps you fill in official government trademark-status portals hosted by the Indian Trade Marks Registry. This section explains, in line with Google's API Services User Data Policy, how the extension handles Google Account data if you choose to connect your Gmail account.

9.1. What we access

With your explicit Google sign-in consent, the extension requests read-only access to your Gmail (the gmail.readonly scope) for the sole purpose of locating the one-time password (OTP) email sent by the Trade Marks Registry (delhi.tmr@nic.in) after you request an OTP on the official government portal.

9.2. How we use it

The extension searches your Gmail, entirely within your own browser, for the most recent matching OTP email, extracts the numeric code, and fills it into the OTP field on the government portal you are already using. This happens automatically only after you have initiated an OTP request yourself.

9.3. Limited Use disclosure

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We do not store your Gmail messages or their contents. Data is read transiently in your browser and discarded immediately after the OTP is extracted.
  • We never transmit your Gmail data to Trademarx's servers or to any third party.
  • We do not use Gmail data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to autofilling the OTP.
  • We do not use Gmail data to train or improve any generalized or non-personalized AI / machine-learning models.
  • No one at Trademarx reads your Gmail data, except where necessary to investigate a security incident, comply with law, or at your explicit request for support.

9.4. Revoking access

You can revoke the extension's access to your Google Account at any time via Google Account → Security → Third-party access, or by uninstalling the extension.
